How to Control Your Anger in Islam

How to Control Your Anger in Islam:-

This might be surprising to know that Islam has rulings about to geting angry; however, it is considered one of the evil & bad whispers (or waswas) of Shaytaan(devil), the devil.
It may lead you  to many bad events, such as doing or saying something without realizing the results. There are many sayings from the Prophet (pbuh)) explaining what should be done when someone gets angry. This article will help you to control your anger according to the way of Sunnah.

◆Step 1:-

Seek refuge in Allah swt. This is very simple way to control  anger. Whenever you feel angry, sit down, and seek refuge in Allah from Shaytaan(devil). In Arabic, say ""A'oodhu billahi minash shaytaannir rajeem"". Have a drink of water, and just relax; don't get tentions or stress.

The messengerof ALLAH Prophet (pbuh)) said, "If a someone gets angry and says, '‘I seek refuge with Allaah,’ [and] his anger will go-away."

    Sulayman ibn Sard he  said:
"I was sitting with messenger of ALLAH Prophet (pbuh), and two men were slandering one another. One of them was became red in the face, and the veins of his neck were standing out. The Prophet (pbuh) he said, ‘I know a word which, if he were to say it, what he feels would go away. If he said-

"I seek refuge with Allaah from shaaytan.

 ◆Step-2

You should Keep silent. If someone says something bad to you, do not retaliate and say something mean back to him/her. If you are having an argument, be the better person & realize that nothing good can be comes out of petty arguments & keep silent. When one is angry, they only lose their self-control, and may utter words that they later regret.
The Messenger of Allaah swt phophet muhammad(pbuh) said: "If any of you becomes angry, then let him keep silent."

◆Step 3:-

You should Relax yourself. If you become angry, move away from the source of anger, & sit down. If you still feel the same, lie down. Try to think of positive thoughts, instead of dwelling on thoughts that make you more angry. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, and try to get a peace of mind. If you are standing, you can, again, out of anger, do something you regret, such as hitting someone.
The Messenger of Allaah muhammad (pbuh) said: "If any of you becomes angry and he is standing, then let him sit down, so his anger may go away; if it does not go away, let him lie down."
If the anger still does not go away, the he should make wudu.

◆Step 4:-

Understand what making you angry. It can be someone at work or at school or at college or at home etc, that you find annoying & rude; instead of getting anger, kindly  you should speak to them.Know that  Nothing good comes out of shouting at each other. It iss been said;-
that, "'Whoever can controls his anger at the time when he has the means to act upon it, Allaah will fill his heart with contentment on the Day of Resurrection."'
the main cure to anger is avoiding its causes.

◆Step 5:-

Know that those who can control their anger are praised one. They are given a high status and are praised in several hadeeth. Messenger of ALLAH prophet muhammad (pbuh) said:

"'The strong person is not the one who can overpower others (in wrestling); but, the strong person is the one who controls himself when he gets angry."

◆ Step 6:-

Realize the bad sources of getting angry. In aextreme situations, anger can lead you to family breakups, or someone can get seriously injured. It may be linked to mental issues or lead to health problems etc, like high blood pressure or tachycardia.

◆Step 7:-

You should Make du'a.Because Supplications humbles us and can help us to control our anger. There are many duas in Holy-Quran & in hadeeth as well for people who find themselves getting worked up easily as a result of waswas.

For example:

    ''AA-oo--dhoo bi-ka--li-maa till--laa-hit taaam-ma-ti meen gha-da--bi-hee wa i-qaa-bi-hee wa shari iba--dih. Wa min hama--zaa-tish shaya-tin. Wa ayy-yahh dhu--roon.
   meaning
"''I seek refuge in  perfect words of ALLAH from His anger & punishment, from the evil of His slaves, and from  whispers and presence of shaaytan(DEVIL)."
    ''Laa ilaaa ha il--laa an--ta subh-haa-naa--ka in-nee kun--tu minadh-dhaa li--min.
    meaning
"There is no God but ALLAH. May You be exalted. Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers."
    ''Allah--huma adh--hib ghay--da qal--bee.
meaning
'"Oh Allah swt, remove anger from my heart."''

And Allah knows best
